It was a fantastic day out on Monday 9th October with Alison O’Brien, our tour guide for Carlton Gardens and Royal Exhibition Building tour. We first of all had a hot drink at Cafe in the corner of what was the Homeless Mens Hostel in Little Bourke Street, Gordon House, which has been turned into apartments for tourists. We then saw a section of the Golden Walk around Melbourne. Made our way gradually to the entrance of the Carlton Gardens seeing many points of interest. We walked all around the Exhibition Building and saw the Carlton Gardens Primary School which is still in use. We walked past the original Carlton Gardens Cottage where one of the Gardeners lives. Saw the rear of the Melbourne Museum and gradually made our way to the front entrance where we had lunch. Then we saw more items of interest as we gradually made our way back to Parliament Station.
